The 28th Infantry Division Association is pleased to offer a unique opportunity to view raw combat footage of the 28th Division in action from August to November 1944.
Titled The Liberation of Western Europe, this DVD focuses on the 28th Infantry Division’s role during World War II in the fall of 1944. The story begins on August 1, 1944, when the division, alongside the XIX Corps of the U.S. First Army, engaged in combat. Having broken out of Normandy, the division advanced south and secured the westernmost edge of the Falaise Gap. The DVD spans this period, concluding in early November 1944, as the 28th Infantry Division moves through the Hürtgen Forest. The footage, captured by the 163rd, 165th, and 167th Signal Photo Companies, was thoroughly researched, compiled, and reformatted by Combat Reels for DVD.
